Experience Landcare – Join an Activity During Landcare Week 3rd – 9th August

This Landcare Week, we invite the Coffs Coast community to Experience Landcare and discover the people, places and projects helping to protect our unique natural environment. As well as making a positive difference for the environment, Landcare is a great way to connect with nature, improve your health and wellbeing and meet with like-minded people in your local community.

Whether you’re interested in volunteering, learning about native plants, or simply enjoying the outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout the week

Chat to us at Harbourside Markets | Sunday 2 August

We’re kicking off Landcare Week with a stall at the Harbourside Markets. Come and meet our friendly volunteers and staff, learn about local Landcare projects, and discover how you can get involved in caring for our environment.

Join a Landcare Working Bee

Experience Landcare in action by joining one of our working bees at Landcare sites across the Coffs Coast. Meet passionate local volunteers, learn practical skills, and see firsthand the valuable work being done to restore and protect our natural areas.

See the schedule below for locations and dates. Registration is required, see below for form, and we’ll provide all the details once you sign up.

Visit our Landcare Community Nursery

Visit our native plant nursery in Woolgoolga and explore the wide range of plants grown for local restoration projects. Get advice on native species for your garden, purchase plants, or lend a hand with propagation and potting.

The nursery is open Monday and Thursday mornings 9am -12pm, and everyone is welcome. Click for directions to the nursery.

Finish the Week with a Walk, Talk and Stunning Coastal Views at Boambee Headland

Meet the dedicated volunteers who have worked tirelessly to restore this iconic site following the devastating 2021 hailstorm that stripped much of the headland’s vegetation. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of resilience and recovery while seeing first-hand the extensive revegetation, weed control and habitat restoration work that has transformed the area.

Learn why native vegetation is so important for local wildlife, enjoy spectacular coastal views, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a migrating whale offshore.

Come along, connect with your community, and Experience Landcare this August.
