Around 70 primary school students and teachers from Casuarina Steiner School joined the City of Coffs Harbour’s Bush Regeneration Team for a successful planting day on the Friends of Coffs Creek Landcare site next to their school.
The enthusiastic group planted more than 300 native plants, helping to restore an area of local bushland and improve habitat for native wildlife. Throughout the day, students learned about the importance of caring for the environment while making a valuable contribution to the health of Coffs Creek, an area the school regularly explores through bush walking activities.
The planting day also formed part of the school’s NAIDOC Week activities, providing a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with the themes of Caring for Country and environmental stewardship.
