We are happy to announce that the recent celebration of our 2021 CHRL Annual Award winners, at the breakfast held at our Community Nursery on December 2, 2021, was a great success. It was wonderful to have so many volunteers and supporters come out and join us in celebrating the achievements of our members in 2021.

The Awards presented were the Dee Wallace Memorial Award, the Eileen Moody Memorial Award and the Pia Dollmann Conservation & Sustainability Community Award.

We also celebrated the contributions of 2 very deserving recipients of the CHRL Lifetime Membership Award.

 

 

Dee Wallace Memorial Award – Fuller Street Dunecare 2021 Award Winner for Excellence

In recognition of their focus, consistency and commitment to their site and their significant achievement in transforming the site to an area that now supports a wide variety of endemic species.

Congratulations to Gregory Yeates and all of the dedicated volunteers for their achievement.

Eileen Moody Memorial Award – Fiona Kealy 2021 Award Winner

In recognition of her considerable contribution to improving the service provided by the CHRL Community Nursery, by greatly improving record keeping and therefore streamlining nursery processes.

Individuals such asFiona contribute considerable time and effort to Coffs Harbour Regional Landcare. A sincere thank you to Fiona for her dedication to the Community Nursery. 

Pia Dollmann Conservation & Sustainability Community Award – Lindy Davis 2021 Award Winner

In recognition of her significant contribution to the promotion of sustainability and conservation of biodiversity in our community through her environmental restoration work, dedication to education and training and her effective collaboration with many local organisations including Coffs Harbour Landcare, Jetty Dunecare & Coffs Harbour City Council.

A sincere thank you to Lindy for the contributions she makes to Landcare and the community.

 

CHRL Lifetime Membership

Lindy Davis, Barry Powells & Desnee McCosker

Jane Ireland and Desnee McCosker were both awarded CHRL Lifetime Membership for the significant contributions they have made. Jane was sadly missed, however Desnee graciously accepted the awards on both of their behalves.

Desnee was recognised for her significant contribution to CHRL, from growing and developing the 1st Landcare site, to assisting in the establishment of our community nursery and successfully securing funding to initiate the Jetty cleanup. 

Jane was recognised for her significant contribution to the local Landcare movement as the voice and face of Jetty Dunecare, ensuring Coffs Harbour had a champion for the environment. Her vision and tenacity has inspired many, improved the lives of local families and created new programs to instill an appreciation in others.

The contributions both women have made will be enjoyed by the whole community well into the future, thank you.
