Expression of Interest (EoI) for Cultural Fire Management Aboriginal Working Group

The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) is calling for Aboriginal people experienced &/or active in cultural fire to establish the new DPIE Cultural Fire Management Aboriginal Working Group.

The Working Group will lead the development of the NSW Government’s proposal to fund and establish an Independent Aboriginal Body for Cultural Fire Management in NSW. The proposed Independent Body and function will be determined through an Aboriginal community driven process.

The Working Group will also lead the NSW Government’s cultural fire management strategy, provide advice on cultural fire management monitoring and evaluation, communications, and policy.

This Expression of Interest is calling for nominations to fill up to seven members. We encourage a wide diversity of applications, including gender, experience and regional representation. EOIs are only for Aboriginal people to apply.

Applications close: 11:59pm, Wednesday 3 November 2021
