Fire & Weeds workshop at Nana Glen on Saturday 12th of February, 10am to 12noon.

VENUE CHANGE –  Due to potential for wet weather the event will now be held at Nana Glen Community Hall at 26 Grafton Street, Nana Glen. 

The workshop will be most beneficial for small rural landholders who have experienced fire or would like improve fire preparedness.

 

A representative from the RFS will be presenting on fire preparedness, creating asset protection zones, approvals to undertake burning activities and what you can do to be prepare for future fire events.  

The Biosecurity Officer from Council will also be present to talk about weeds post fire, the common weed species that germinate after fire in the Coffs Harbour LGA and how to manage them. We will also be showcasing the updated weed resource Weeds of the North Coast, which is a resource that can assist you to identify and manage weeds.
