Paper mulberry is a very fast-growing deciduous tree that outcompetes native plants, forms dense stands and can cause allergic reactions.

Under the Regional Recommended Measure, this plant should be eradicated from the land and the land should be kept free of the plant.

If you suspect you have found a Paper Mulberry, then contact your local control authority or council and report it. You can also call the NSW Invasive Plants and Animals Enquiry Line on 1800 680 244 or email weeds@dpi.nsw.gov.au with your concern.

There are many exotic weeds throughout the NSW North Coast that may harm Australia’s primary industries and environment.  For further information view our Weeds Resource page.
