Starting in 2015 a NPWS Coffs Coast initiative called the ‘Tree Parents Project’ was created to restore koala habitat in Bongil Bongil National Park, utilising the amazing energy of local volunteers. Their dedicated work planting and tending the baby trees has led to a very successful rate of survival.

Now that the trees are big and strong enough to survive on their own and to feed our local koalas and birds, they need to remove their tree cages and stakes. This is a time for celebration and NPNSW would like to extend an invitation for you to join them.
